Another month, another car! If you haven’t yet, check out the previous post I wrote my experience driving the 2019 Toyota Corolla in the UAE. I had the car for a month and covered 3700 km.

After the month was over, I contacted the car rental company in Ras al Khaimah to look for a different car. Something a little newer.

Of all the cars they had for me to rent for the next month, the 2024 Hyundai Creta appealed to me the most. The Creta was completely brand new, with less than 1000 km on the clock.

Why would anyone talk about a five-year-old Toyota now? Well, I like to drive different cars and write about my experiences. I recently got my driving license in the UAE (I’ve held a license from home for years) and decided to start exploring the UAE with a rental Corolla.

I drove the GCC spec 2019 Toyota Corolla all across the UAE. Over a month, I clocked a little over 3,700 km. With that many kilometers behind the wheel, I gathered some wisdom that I believe would benefit anyone looking to buy a 2019 Corolla in the UAE or elsewhere in the GCC market.

I’ve always been told that crossing a ferry with a car is a difficult task. The people who help you park on the ferry are extremely impatient. Because they want to squeeze as many vehicles as possible within as little time as possible, they will always be rushing you to park your car the way they want.

In April 2018, I had the chance to travel to Thailand. As someone who loves driving, it was inevitable that I’d end up renting a car to drive around. I was able to rent a Toyota Yaris 1.2L for a week and now I have dashcam footage of all of my driving in Phuket, Thailand.
